ElectraNet is responsible for the construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of South Australia’s high-voltage transmission network, which transports electricity from generators to distributors and major load-connected customers, allowing power to be supplied to homes, businesses, and communities.
The unprecedented growth of renewable energy infrastructure seeking to connect to our network is transforming South Australia’s energy landscape. This has sometimes resulted in zero network demand, with renewables supplying 100% of energy. We constantly evolve to ensure that the electricity transmission network provides secure, reliable, and stable power. We are looking for two Electrical Engineering Graduates who are enthusiastic about the energy sector to join ElectraNet and help us achieve these goals.
Furthermore, as a graduate of ElectraNet, you will gain experience in various disciplines across the asset lifecycle, helping you develop a broad technical awareness and understanding of the Energy Sector and a greater appreciation for the importance of stakeholder engagement and collaboration in delivering positive outcomes.
Our Electrical Engineering Graduate Program will see you rotate every 3 – 6 months for 2 years, after which you will be appointed to a permanent ongoing role within the business. During this time, we will provide you with a supportive, engaging, and hands-on learning experience to ensure you continue to develop your skills and career in the Energy sector and gain exposure to innovative engineering practices with a company at the forefront of the transition to a green energy future.
Requirements
You are either due to complete your studies in 2022 or have completed your university studies within the last two years. You have a natural curiosity for power and energy, and working in an industry and region with the highest penetration of renewable energy in Australia is particularly motivating. Furthermore, your love of learning, inquisitive mind, and strong written and verbal communication enables you to articulate your ideas and engage with peers for collaboration.
In addition, you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) or relevant discipline (essential)
- Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable ability to work as a team member and actively promote office harmony
- Also, have the ability to prioritize effectively to arrive at the optimal solution
- Self-motivated with a strong desire and ability to acquire both technical and business knowledge/skills
- Analytical, investigation, and problem-solving skills
