Pāmu (Landcorp), a well-established and respected leader in New Zealand farming, is seeking a part-time Dairy Calf Rearer to join their team at Renown Dairy Unit. This is a fixed-term position running from late July through to mid-September 2025, offering a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours depending on operational needs.

Job Requirements
Pāmu is looking for someone who takes animal wellbeing seriously, can work independently, and is proactive about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and care. While prior calf rearing or farming experience is an advantage, it’s not essential; enthusiastic candidates who are eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Be physically fit and comfortable with outdoor farm work.
- Possess a genuine interest in animal health and welfare.
- Be able to work both independently and within a team.
- Have a positive attitude toward health and safety protocols.
- Be ready to raise concerns and contribute to improvements.
- Ideally have previous experience in calf rearing or general farming.
- Hold at least a restricted or full driver’s license.
- Have reliable personal transport (this is a drive-in/drive-out role)

Key Responsibilities
In this role, your daily tasks will involve:
- Feeding young calves and ensuring they are thriving
- Weighing and drafting calves according to their needs
- Administering drenching and basic health checks
- Monitoring calf health and wellbeing consistently
- Maintaining hygiene in feeding and living areas
- Assisting with general farm tasks or milking when required
- Reporting any health issues or concerns to management promptly
