Job Requirements for Construction Director Position
To be considered, you must have:
- A university degree in construction or engineering (Master’s or Chartered Engineer status preferred)
- Minimum 20 years’ experience in rail systems and infrastructure delivery, including civil and systems interface management
- At least one HSR project delivered in a director-level capacity
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on HSR experience (defined as systems operating above 250 km/h)
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale multidisciplinary projects
- In-depth understanding of track, signaling, telecoms, electrification (25 kV AC), and systems integration
- Strong leadership, reporting, and stakeholder coordination capabilities
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices
Key Responsibilities for Construction Director Position
- Lead execution and delivery of HSR systems and infrastructure
- Oversee all aspects of construction, contractor management, and systems integration
- Coordinate interface between civil works and rail systems teams
- Ensure quality, schedule, and safety compliance across construction activities
- Identify and manage delivery risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place
- Provide progress updates and reporting to executive leadership
- Support seamless coordination between design, procurement, construction, and commissioning functions
