Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• We prefer candidates who have previously worked in a maintenance or handyman role within a hotel environment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
  
• A high level of honesty, reliability, and attention to detail.
  
• Only applicants with New Zealand residency or a valid work permit will be considered.
  
• Willingness to assist with both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing general maintenance and repairs across hotel facilities including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house zones.
  
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in keeping all areas of the hotel well-maintained, functional, and safe.
• Assisting in the execution of preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of hotel assets.
  
• Responding quickly to maintenance requests, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions to guest or staff issues.
  
• Ensuring compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental laws.
  
• Participating in regular safety inspections and promptly addressing any concerns to maintain a safe working and guest environment.
