Legal Assistants and Paralegals support attorneys by conducting research, preparing legal documents, and managing case files. They are the backbone of legal teams, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency in various legal proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case materials.
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, briefs, and correspondence.
- Organize and maintain client files and legal records.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and court appearances.
- Assist attorneys during trials by preparing exhibits and organizing evidence.
- Communicate with clients and other parties to collect information and provide updates.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Certification as a Paralegal (preferred but not always required).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and legal research abilities.
- Proficiency in legal software and document management systems.
