Job Requirements for Grain Farm Labourers Position

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• No degree, certificate, or diploma required
• 3 to less than 5 years of relevant farm experience
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Legal authorization to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit holder)
• Valid driver’s licence required
• Must pass a criminal record check
• Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Must provide own work gloves and steel-toed safety boots

Responsibilities for Grain Farm Labourers Position

• Clear fields, pens, and other work areas of debris and brush
• Fertilize, spray, cut, and harvest crops (grains, canola, hay, etc.)
• Operate and maintain a wide range of farm machinery including combines, sprayers, seed drills, swathers, and forklifts
• Load and unload crates, farm produce, and livestock
• Monitor animal health and the calving process
• Detect crop and livestock diseases and report health issues
• Perform general cleaning of barns, stables, and equipment
• Support with welding, equipment repairs, and general upkeep of farm structures
• Supervise truck drivers when required
