Job Requirements for Grain Farm Workers

To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following:

• No degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Previous farming experience is an asset, but not required
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (citizens, permanent residents, or valid work permit holders)
• Comfortable working in rural environments and physically demanding conditions
• Ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities for Grain Farm Workers

• Plant, irrigate, and cultivate wheat and other grain, oil, and forage crops
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides to enhance crop growth
• Operate and maintain various farm equipment, including tractors and sprayers
• Harvest and prepare crops for market
• Perform general farm tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and basic repairs
• Follow safety and biosecurity procedures to protect crops and maintain hygiene
• Maintain buildings and machinery to ensure functionality throughout the season

Other Responsibilities

• Assist in equipment setup and monitoring throughout planting and harvesting phases
• Monitor crop health and report issues to supervisors
• Support crop rotation and field maintenance activities
• Help with on-site logistics, loading, and transportation when needed
