Job Requirements for General Farm Workers

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• No formal education required (no degree, certificate, or diploma)
• 2 years to less than 3 years of related experience
• Must have a valid driver’s licence and be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle
• Must have access to a personal vehicle for transportation to the farm
• Legally authorised to work in Canada (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or valid work permit holders)

Responsibilities for General Farm Workers

• Plant, irrigate, and cultivate crops
• Harvest and handle grain, forage, and hay crops
• Feed, monitor, and tend to livestock, including beef cattle
• Clean and maintain barns, pens, and stables
• Operate and maintain a variety of farm machinery and equipment (tractors, seed drills, sprayers, swathers, etc.)
• Detect health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
• Keep accurate logs and records of farm activities
• Perform repairs and maintenance on tools and machinery
• Assist in general farm operations and seasonal tasks

Other Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently
• Uphold safety and cleanliness across the farm
• Respond promptly to any issues involving livestock or equipment
• Use sound judgment in handling daily routines and unexpected farm situations
