Job Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; or 1-4 years of related experience with a high school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Inspection of compacted fills, footings, ground improvement, deep foundations, retaining walls, utilities, asphalt, concrete, and site work elements
- Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written
- Outdoor construction sites requiring walking on uneven terrain and exposure to various weather conditions
- 100% travel required, including out-of-state assignments
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ pounds, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Field Inspector, your tasks will include:
- Inspecting and overseeing construction sites, including buildings, utilities, walls, pavement, and other infrastructure projects
- Ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations
- Conducting material sampling and laboratory testing
- Performing inspections on pile installations, deep dynamic compaction processes, compacted fills, and ground improvement
- Verifying the accuracy of structural installations and layouts
- Observing and documenting utility installations and soil classifications
- Recording quantities of materials used and preparing daily logs and progress reports
- Conducting permeability testing, well monitoring, and environmental soil sampling
- Assisting ecological engineers in the development of remediation devices
- Participating in environmental audits and preparing relevant reports
- Operating tools such as lump hammers, shovels, hand augers, and Nuclear Density Gauges
- Adhering to OSHA and ecological safety policies and procedures
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Computer Skills Proficiency or familiarity with:
- AutoCAD
- NitroPro
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- Adobe software
