Responsibilities
The Housekeeper will be responsible for thorough cleaning and presentation of multiple areas within the hotel:
Kitchen Area Tasks
- Empty the dishwasher and clean fingerprints off appliances.
- Dust fridge tops, shelves for glasses/cups, and the microwave area
- Use degreaser to gently wipe vent hoods, underframes, and screens.
- Ensure backsplashes, countertops, faucets, and sinks are spotless.
- Refill milk (6 per fridge) and water in ice trays
- Arrange tea, coffee, and other amenities neatly
- Clean the toaster and kettle; manage cords neatly
- Occasionally, deep clean cabinets, fridge interiors, and utensil drawers
Living Room and Bedroom Tasks
- Arrange curtains and decorative pillows for a neat appearance
- Clean windows, glass doors, and wipe down lamps and tables
- Sanitize remotes and phones
- Dust bed frames, headboards, and under beds
- Clean TV stands, coffee tables, and baseboards
- Tidy closets, check the ironing board and iron
- Make beds to a crisp, clean standard with fresh linens.
- Ensure trash bins are emptied and sanitized when needed
Bathroom Tasks
- Clean toilet bowls, tanks, and behind the toilets using only water
- Remove mildew and limescale from shower doors and corners using bleach
- Ensure faucets, mirrors, and metal fixtures are free from marks
- Sanitize washing machine rubber rings and remove lint
- Ensure toiletries are neatly arranged and all surfaces are dust-free
Common Area Tasks
- Dust and vacuum entrance areas, hallways, and staircases
- Wipe down stair handrails and elevator interiors
- Pay attention to forgotten spots like stair edges and hallway trim
Final Checks:
Before leaving any room, turn off lights, air conditioning, towel heaters, and lock or secure any open windows or doors, especially on the ground floor.
