Job Description

Soiled laundry should be removed and separated from chutes or housekeeping carts. In accordance with company standards, operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery. Apply the appropriate treatment to stained items based on the fabric and type of stain. Keep detailed records of the items washed, the number of loads, and the dry cleaning and laundry poundage. Carry washed items to dryers and place them in dryers according to load size. Also, after each load, clean the dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain traps of lint and debris. Check chemical container levels to ensure chemicals are being dispensed and notify the supervisor/manager of any potential pump problems.

Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications. Also, ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.

Also, develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects). Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Also, move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
