Job Requirements for Solicitor Position

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience (PQE) in projects, construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy law
  • A strong technical grounding in contract drafting, procurement, and tendering processes
  • Ability to provide clear, commercially minded legal advice to a diverse client base
  • Desire to work closely with industry-leading partners and clients
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work ethic
  • Interest in helping clients deliver sustainable, future-facing projects across Aotearoa

Responsibilities for Solicitor Position

  • Advise public and private sector clients on major infrastructure and renewable energy projects
  • Assist with planning, procurement, and delivery of complex works programs
  • Draft and negotiate front-end contracts and construction agreements
  • Support partners on high-profile tendering, joint ventures, PPPs, and project structuring
  • Build and manage client relationships with a focus on long-term partnership and value
  • Stay abreast of legal and market developments within the energy, climate, and construction sectors

Other Responsibilities

  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and team development
  • Mentor junior legal staff, where applicable
  • Represent the firm at client meetings, conferences, and industry events
  • Uphold and reflect the firm’s values of excellence, integrity, and client-focused service
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the infrastructure and renewables space
