The Lead Data Engineer will report to the Enterprise Data Services team and will be building automated data pipelines to support advanced data solution throughout the OneMain organization. The candidate will be responsible for identifying relevant data and utilizing data tools, technologies, and processes to develop continuous, data driven and automated data pipelines to provide value through clean and optimal data.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop, build & maintain mission critical data pipelines that gather data from various internal & external sources
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using AWS technologies like Glue. S3 etc.
• Develop automated data quality check to make correctness of data. Implement metadata integration for data dictionaries.
• Provides technical leadership, fosters a team environment, and provides mentorship and feedback to technical resources.
• Data processing/transformation using various technologies such as Spark and Cloud Services.
• Understand current data engineering pipelines using legacy ETL tools and convert to modern pipelines using cloud native ETL tools
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as data engineer. This is completely hand-on development role using latest data engineering technologies.
• Must have deep expertise in one of the programming languages for data processes (Python, Scala) and must have worked on building data lakes.
• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT design methodologies, architecture, strategy, and tactics for complex ETL solution.
• Good knowledge of Data formats (Parquet, ORC etc.) and working knowledge with Data Lakes
• Proactively identify, design, and implement process improvements like automating manual processes, optimizing data flow, increase scalability etc.
• Must have worked with relational databases
