Job Description

They are searching for a Global Agriculture Intern to work with us for 4 – 6 months, preferably between April and October, on a project to address management challenges with new potato varieties.
Based in Florenceville, Brunswick, Canada, this internship allows you to investigate novel management approaches to enhance and optimize performance and plan, execute, and report on trials with the team.
This role also includes the possibility of joining our Global Agriculture Graduate Program as a successful intern, which would give further opportunities to learn and advance within McCain.

Responsibilities

  • Using plant nutrition practices, determine if a new variety will set heavier without aborting tubers throughout the season.
  • Determine the possibility of line selection on a key new variety
  • Determine plantlet to minituber fertility practices on new vs. standard variety in greenhouse settings.
  • Determine the influence of fertilizers on the dry matter spread in individual tubers of new varieties.
