Responsibilities

This internship will focus on solving the identified agronomic issues related to the growth of certain new varieties at various stages of their production and identifying solutions. Looking at different management practices for new varieties, you will develop a trial protocol with the team, execute planting, monitor the trials, and collect data to report on findings and make recommendations. New varieties add a competitive advantage to McCain’s through contracting benefits, processing benefits, and cost recovery benefits.

In addition to agronomic benefits to the growers, as well as reduced risk to our customers on supply chain changes by supplying them with varieties that have less variation in useable yields due to the impact of climate change. The solutions on nutrient management practices and variety management identified through these trials will be shared with all regions using these varieties, and the McCain’s on these exclusive varieties has the potential for a great impact.
