Job Description
Diary farm assistants seek the service of a farm assistant to join their team. This role requires you to be focused, reliable, and attentive to details.
Responsibilities
– Assist in the daily care and management of our herd.
– Follow farm protocols and procedures to ensure the health and welfare of livestock.
– Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the farm premises.
– Work closely with the Contract Milker and other team members to achieve farm goals.
– Perform farm duties confidently, including:
– Assisting in milking
– Maintaining milking plant hygiene
– Calving and calf rearing
– Proactively managing animal health
– Weed spraying
– Operating and maintaining farm machinery
– General farm work and other duties as required
Requirements
– Minimum 6 months of experience in dairy farming
– Good communication skills
– Health and safety conscious
– Physically fit
– Hardworking, honest, and reliable
– Excellent time management
– Must pass a drug test and have no criminal record
– No smoking or vaping on the farm and in the house
