Job Description
They seek a reliable and hardworking Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team on a 345-cow farm. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily care and management of our herd, ensuring our livestock’s health and welfare while maintaining the farm premises’ cleanliness and orderliness.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist in the daily care and management of the herd.
– Follow farm protocols and procedures to ensure the health and welfare of livestock.
– Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the farm premises.
– Work closely with the Contract Milker and other team members to achieve farm goals.
– Undertake farm duties confidently, including but not limited to:
– Assisting in milking.
– Maintaining milking plant hygiene.
– Calving and calf rearing.
– Being proactive with animal health.
– Weed spraying.
– Operating and maintaining farm machinery.
– General farm work and other duties as required.
Requirements
– Good communication skills.
– Health and safety conscious.
– Physically fit.
– Hardworking, honest, and reliable work attendance.
– Excellent time management skills.
– Must pass a drug test.
– No criminal record.
– No smoking or vaping on the farm and in the house.
– Provide a CV with 2 referees.
