Experienced farm assistant

Job Description

New Zealand Farm Source is searching for an ambitious Farm Assistant to join our team, ideally for an immediate start. We milk 610 quiet, 100% spring calving pedigree jersey cows through a 50 bail rotary shed utilizing all flex collars and a drafting gate. We operate on 210ha effective and fill any feed gaps with two covered feed pads and a mixer wagon. All young stock is grazed off-farm from weaning.

Requirements

  • At least one season’s dairy farming experience in New Zealand
  • Currently living in New Zealand with the appropriate visa
  • Fit, keen, and striving to progress in the dairy industry
  • Commitment to operating a clean, tidy, and well-run farm

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with milking 610 pedigree Jersey cows
  • Operating and maintaining a 50 bail rotary shed with all flex collars and drafting gate
  • Supporting feed management with two covered feed pads and a mixer wagon
  • Helping to maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the farm
  • Contributing to the overall operation and success of the farm
