Electrician or Substation Maintainer

Job Description

An exciting opportunity now exists for an Electrician to join her highly collaborative and supportive team of go-getters. As the Electrician or Electrical Fitter, you will undertake electrical substation construction and maintenance tasks. You will provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective construction, erection, installation, repair, assembly, maintenance, and modification of all types of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical apparatus.

Requirements

  • EWRB fully registered electrician
  • Experience in the High Voltage Electrical industry (advantageous but not required)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Physically fit, especially for heavy lifting, stretching, and climbing
  • No pacemaker; physically flexible; manual dexterity
  • Trained attached climber (advantageous)
  • Not afraid of heights
  • Full driver’s license with experience driving in various road, terrain, and weather conditions
  • Strong experience in Health & Safety roles

Responsibilities

  • Installing HV and/or LV substation equipment
  • Plant repair and maintenance
  • Primary plant testing
  • Authority to work on equipment
  • Worksite management and participation
  • Equipment control and maintenance
