They’re seeking an experienced Chef de Partie/Kaitunu tuarua to join their passionate F&B team in their Dark Sky Diner. This role will assist the Head Chef/Kaitunu matua to create extraordinary culinary delights for their manuhiri (visitors), so if you love kai (food) and baking, then this might be the opportunity for you!

Their world-class Astronomy Centre on the Takapō lakefront brings to life the science of stars and Tātai aroraki (Māori astronomy) through an immersive and engaging international experience. This experience is world-first and complements the range of outdoor experiences they currently offer their domestic and international visitors to the region. They aim to connect with their customers through the people at their place.

Responsibilities

– Assist the Head Chef/Kaitunu matua in creating and preparing extraordinary culinary delights.
– Ensure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards.
– Demonstrate a range of skills in baking and cooking.
– Manage time effectively and organize tasks efficiently.
– Work collaboratively with the team and manage team dynamics.
– Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
– Learn and correctly pronounce reo Māori names and terms.
