Job Description

Rotorua Hotel seeks the service of a talented Chef De Partie to join their amazing team at our beautiful Rotorua Hotel. The well-regarded Sudima Lake Rotorua kitchen team offers guests room service, a la carte and buffet for breakfast, a la carte for lunch and dinner in their restaurant, and extensive conferencing. They are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join their team to produce creative, innovative, and nutritious dishes. This is a permanent full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours per week, based at Sudima Lake Rotorua, with an hourly rate of $29.66.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

– Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing, and room service daily.
– Organize the shift, ensure prep completion, and support the team in maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen for each shift.
– Support the Head Chef and guide junior kitchen team members where appropriate.
– Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect among co-workers.
– Assist with planning menus, estimating costs, and ordering food supplies.
– Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
– Discuss food preparation issues with Managers and the Food and Beverage team.
– Demonstrate techniques and cooking procedures.
– Handle food preparation, freezing, preserving, and cooking.
– Understand and enforce hygiene regulations.
– Assist with selecting and training team members.
