Job Description
The service of a dedicated and experienced farm assistant is needed to oversee operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in livestock management, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for animal welfare and sustainable farming practices.
Responsibilities
- Managing Livestock Breeding Programs
- Oversee breeding programs and the rearing of young livestock.
- Identify and address livestock health and nutrition problems.
- Develop and implement livestock feeding plans.
- Animal Health and Welfare:
- Supervise animal health and welfare programs.
- Identify health and nutrition issues in livestock and plants.
- Pasture and Crop Management
- Establish and manage pastures and fodder crops for livestock production
- Implement biosecurity management measures.
- Water Supply and Irrigation
- Manage water supply and irrigation systems.
- Farming Operations
- Supervise operations such as herding, catching, drenching, and milking livestock.
- Oversee general farming activities, including maintenance and cleaning of livestock housing and other farm infrastructure.
- Team Management:
- Supervise, train, and manage farm workers’ work routines.
- Data Collection and Technology
- Maintain and operate data collection and analysis systems.
- Utilize farm technology systems for better decision-making.
