Job Description

NZ Farm seeks the service of a Dairy Farm Assistant with experience in New Zealand dairy farming who holds a valid NZ work visa and can start immediately. As part of a four-person team, you will be working with a 600-cow herd in a Herringbone Shed with cup removers.

Requirements

  • Experience in NZ dairy farming
  • Valid NZ work visa
  • Ability to start immediately
  • Skills beyond milking, including:
    • Driving tractors and dairy farm equipment
    • Operating loaders
    • Yarding stock and assisting with treatments
    • Putting up breaks
    • Proficiency with quads and motorbikes

Responsibilities

  • Milking 600 cows in a Herringbone Shed with cup removers
  • Driving and maintaining tractors and other dairy farm equipment
  • Operating loaders and other machinery as needed
  • Yarding stock and assisting with animal treatments
  • Setting up breaks and managing pasture
  • Working collaboratively with the existing team to ensure smooth farm operations
