Job Description
The service of Safety, Health and Wellbeing – Construction and Maintenance Lead is needed in Aotearoa. Reporting to our Head of Safety, Health, and Wellbeing, you will also work closely with the Director of Format, Network Development, and Property. You will guide, mentor, and build relationships with senior and middle management to positively influence the Property & WFM teams, specifically focusing on SH&W.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
– Participating in the development and delivery of Construction and Maintenance SH&W improvement strategies while assisting and implementing the elements of the Woolworths Contractor Safety Risk Management System.
– Guiding design teams directly or indirectly.
– Supporting and maintaining a strong governance & assurance program that provides insights on the effectiveness of critical controls to manage fatality risks and serious injuries.
– Maintaining the Woolworths SH&W integrated management system components related to construction, renewals, and maintenance risk profiles.
– Providing thought leadership across the Woolworths Group, including industry trends, benchmarking, and other insights to drive continued improvement in risk management.
– Contributing to Executive and Board level written reports.
Requirements
– At least 10 years of work experience in Health and Safety.
– At least 6 years of experience in commercial construction, either as a client or principal contractor.
– Experience with on-site safety support in construction projects to have first-hand knowledge and experience of construction-related safety risks.
