Hello Sailor, the iconic seaside venue in Half Moon Bay, Auckland, is looking for enthusiastic and experienced Full-Time Waitstaff to join our energetic front-of-house team. With a prime location overlooking the marina, we offer our guests not just a meal, but an experience, from sunshine-filled brunches to electric live music nights.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week, flexible roster including evenings and weekends)

Job Requirements for Waitstaff Position

To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following:

• Previous experience working in a high-volume, upmarket restaurant or bar
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards
• Confidence in making menu recommendations and upselling
• Ability to stay calm and efficient during busy service periods
• Weekend and evening availability is essential
• Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand

Responsibilities for Waitstaff Position

• Greet and seat guests with warmth and professionalism
• Take and deliver food and drink orders efficiently
• Collaborate closely with bartenders, chefs, and floor staff
• Provide detailed menu knowledge and upsell where appropriate
• Handle guest feedback with care and responsiveness
• Maintain a clean, organised section and follow all hygiene protocols

Other Responsibilities

• Support set-up and pack-down duties
• Process payments and maintain accurate billing records
• Keep an eye on guest flow and table turnover
• Assist new team members and support ongoing training
• Communicate special requests or dietary needs clearly to the kitchen

• Occasional lifting of trays or stock (up to 20kg)
