Job Requirements for Skilled Civil Labourer Position
To be considered, candidates must meet the following:
- Proven experience in civil construction, drainage, or live services
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual labour
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- A strong work ethic with punctuality and reliability
- Basic understanding of on-site health and safety protocols
- WTR endorsements or Class 2 licence is a bonus (not mandatory)
- Willingness to work across multiple Waikato-based sites
Responsibilities for Skilled Civil Labourer Position
- Assist with trenching, digging, and spotting underground services
- Perform pipe laying, backfilling, and groundwork preparation
- Support machine operators and skilled tradesmen
- Conduct general site clean-up and material handling
- Ensure all work is completed in line with safety standards and procedures
- Follow supervisor’s instructions and contribute to a productive worksite
Other Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with team members to maintain an efficient workflow
- Participate in daily site safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Help maintain site cleanliness and organize materials
- Identify potential hazards and report them promptly
- Upskill in relevant areas, including health and safety, tool handling, and drainage systems
- Represent Alignz Recruitment professionally while on-site
