Job Requirements for Civil Construction Foreperson Position

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil construction across varied project types
  • Hold a Class 2 driver’s licence with WTR endorsement
  • Proven experience in retaining structures, earthworks, temporary works, and roading
  • Previous operation experience on Final Trim Graders or Detailed Excavators
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide and motivate crews
  • Effective communicator with suppliers, clients, and team members
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and dedicated to quality outcomes
  • Committed to high health & safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage on-site productivity

Responsibilities for Civil Construction Foreperson Position

  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise a construction crew across multiple project sites
  • Monitor and maintain day-to-day project schedules and production targets
  • Oversee and enforce quality assurance and compliance with safety procedures
  • Ensure the timely completion of work to required specifications
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Mentor and develop crew members to uphold company values and standards
  • Complete required site documentation, reporting, and crew management tasks
