Job Requirements
To succeed in this role, applicants should have:
- A New Zealand Electrical Registration or Electrical Service Technician Registration with relevant papers (A & B), or
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification with experience in machine maintenance
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the mechanical or electrical engineering field
- The ability to fault-find, troubleshoot, and repair machinery quickly and efficiently
- Control systems and programming experience (desirable but not required)
- A positive, adaptable attitude and the ability to work calmly under pressure
- Willingness to work on a rotating roster including day, afternoon, and night shifts, as well as one weekend day
Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, your duties will include:
- Conducting preventive and reactive maintenance on NZ Post’s sorting machinery
- Ensuring all equipment operates at maximum efficiency
- Supporting the engineering team in identifying potential issues before they cause disruption
- Minimising downtime through effective fault-finding and timely repairs
- Upholding NZ Post’s standards in Health & Safety and operational compliance
